The Government has just approved a law which allows employees with caring responsibilities the right to unpaid leave.

The “Carer’s Leave Bill” passed on 21 October will allow employees, irrespective of length of service i.e., from the first day of their employment to one week of unpaid leave each year to provide or arrange care for a dependant with a long-term care need.
